SEATON BAND NOTES – May 20, 2018
Hello Band Parents & Guardians!
Update on Mr. Dolman:
Mr. Dolman contacted me last Thursday with the news that he will not be returning to teach at Seaton this school year. He hopes to attend the May 30thconcert. As a result, I will be preparing the bands for this concert. Perhaps Mr. Dolman will conduct a piece or two if he is able….
May 30:
There will be the usual daytime concert for elementary feeders from 10:10 to 11:20. So far we have three classes from Alexis Park and three classes from Beairsto attending – we hope to hear from Harwood this week. Parent help is welcome!
The evening concert starts at 7:00 sharp. Many parent helpers are needed for this show.
Students have taken on the tasks of poster and program creation.
I believe the SMPA handles many other details for the evening, but as I am new to the “Seaton Scene”, I am focusing on the music preparation.
Help Needed:
Please contact Liz Ariano or any other SMPA board member if you can help with the Spring Concert.
Concert Band & Jazz Band Attendance:
I realize that many students are very busy people, but attendance at all band classes is necessary. Please reinforce this with your child and remind them to contact me personally if they have an unavoidable conflict (Quest, sports, Peak, festivals, exams, etc.)
Concert Attendance:
If a student is unable to attend the Spring Concert, I need notification in writing from parents/guardians. Deadline: Friday, May 25.

SEATON BAND NOTES – APR 30, 2018
Hello Band Parents & Guardians!
I will be your child’s Band Teacher until Mr. Dolman is able to return to work. We all wish him well with his health issues, and hope he is able to make a speedy recovery!
Mr. Dolman asked me to tell the band students how much he misses everyone!
I am excited to have the opportunity to teach your child! Please bear with me as I try to fill Mr. Dolman’s big shoes. I have always admired Mr. Dolman’s ability to help students achieve excellence in music. I will do my best…
Just so that no-one is caught by surprise, I cannot work full time May 14-17, as I have some family commitments that have been in the works for months. (After all, I think I retired three years ago…)
I have quickly created a simple website – a spot where communication can be shared.
